Overview
Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, Jim Corbett National Park is India’s oldest national park, established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Renowned for its Bengal tiger population, the park spans over 520 square kilometers of diverse landscapes, including dense forests, grasslands, and riverine belts. Home to over 600 species of birds, 50 species of mammals, and 25 species of reptiles, it offers a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Safari Options
- Jeep Safari: Offers an intimate experience of the park’s flora and fauna. Each Jeep accommodates up to 6 people and is accompanied by a trained guide.
- Canter Safari: Ideal for larger groups, these open-air vehicles can accommodate up to 16 passengers. Canter safaris are typically conducted in the Dhikala zone.
- Elephant Safari: Provides a unique vantage point to explore dense forest areas and is especially popular in the Bijrani and Dhikala zones.
The park is open from mid-November to mid-June. The optimal period for wildlife sightings, especially tigers, is from March to June, when animals frequent water sources.
